Welcome to the 50+ Friday Fit Club videos!

The 50+ Friday Fit Club ran for a few months at the beginning of 2015.

It started with recording snippets of my sessions with my Personal Trainer, which we both then posted to Instagram and Facebook. Later I decided to edit the clips into videos for YouTube and here on my blog.

I’ve now combined all of the videos into one post here on the blog. They’re all short videos, so take a scroll through to some get some ideas and inspiration for your next HIIT or interval session.

The benefits of regular strength training

I’m sure you know that regular exercise plays an important role in a healthy lifestyle at any age. However, strength training becomes more important as we get older.

Our metabolism naturally slows down as we age, and without exercise, our muscles atrophy. The good news is that you can offset this, and keep or even re-build your muscles with regular strength training.

Strength training is also great for maintaining a healthy body composition. You can burn off some of those excess fat stores and sculpt a leaner silhouette when you build muscle.

I’m not talking about spending hours in the gym, or training like a bodybuilder. Just 2 or 3 30-60 minute sessions per week is enough. My mantra has always been: train smarter, not harder!

I hope that these videos inspire you not just to make exercise a regular part of your life, but also to try something new every now and then.
