Strawberry mango smoothie bowl

This strawberry mango smoothie bowl is a fresh, colourful breakfast that’s especially lovely on warm mornings.

Strawberries and mango are two of my favourite fruits, and together they make this bowl naturally sweet, creamy and full of summery flavour.

I always think of mango as the taste of summer, which is probably why it turns up so often in my brekkie bowls, smoothies, popsicles and ice cream recipes.

Blended with Greek yoghurt, coconut milk and oats, this is a simple, satisfying bowl that tastes a little bit tropical without being complicated.

Why you’ll love this strawberry mango smoothie bowl

This smoothie bowl combines fruit, oats, yoghurt, coconut milk, seeds and nuts, so you’re getting a satisfying mix of carbohydrates, fibre, protein and healthy fats.

The mango and strawberries provide natural sweetness, colour and vitamin C, while the oats and toppings add fibre and texture. Greek yoghurt brings in some protein, and the coconut milk helps create that rich, creamy consistency.

It’s also easy to adapt depending on your appetite. Add a little more yoghurt or a spoonful of protein powder if you’d like to boost the protein, or keep the toppings lighter for a simpler bowl.

Tips for making this strawberry mango smoothie bowl

  • Use ripe mango for the best flavour. A sweet, juicy mango gives the bowl plenty of natural sweetness without needing anything extra.
  • Keep at least one fruit frozen. Frozen strawberries help create a thicker, spoonable texture. Frozen mango works beautifully too.
  • Add the coconut milk gradually. Start with a little less and add more as needed. Smoothie bowls can go from thick and creamy to drinkable rather quickly.
  • Blend the oats in well. Give the blender time to break them down so the bowl stays smooth rather than slightly chewy.
  • Add the toppings just before serving. This keeps the seeds and nuts crunchy and the coconut lovely and light.

Common questions

Can I use frozen mango instead of fresh?
Yes. Frozen mango will make the bowl even thicker and colder, so you may need a little extra coconut milk to help it blend.

Can I use another milk instead of coconut milk?
Absolutely. Regular milk or your favourite plant-based milk will work, although the flavour won’t be quite as rich or tropical.

Can I make this smoothie bowl ahead of time?
It’s best served straight after blending. You can prepare the fruit and toppings in advance, then blend everything when you’re ready to eat.
