Quick and Easy Flax Seed Crackers
I’m sure you’ve noticed how popular gourmet crackers have become in recent years.
There’s a huge range in the supermarkets, and lots of them have a pretty healthy ingredient profile, which is great.
Do make sure you check the ingredient labels for the kind of oil they use and how much sugar is in them, though.
On the other hand, if you want to have a go at making your own, try these flax seed crackers.
They only take about half an hour, using just flax seeds, chia seeds, water, salt and seasoning.

Quick and easy flax seed crackers
Ingredients
- 1 cup ground flax seeds
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Prepare a large baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Combine all the dry ingredients together in a bowl and slowly add the water, mixing until a dough forms.
- Place the dough on the baking tray and using your fingers, press it out to an even layer ¼ inch (5mm) thick. If it breaks up just press it back together.
- Using a sharp knife, score the dough into the desired cracker shapes as this helps them to break smoothly once they are baked and cooled.
- Bake the crackers in the oven for 30-35 minutes. Remove the tray from the oven and set aside to cool completely before breaking into individual crackers.
